I recently attended a western wedding ceremony and I was amazed at the gorgeous spectacle. The groom and bride did a spectacular job choosing stylish western designs and decor for the special occasion. I thought that the entire thing would be a total mess and that it would be far too casual for a true bridal event but I was terribly wrong.

The first sign that the pair was having a western marriage ceremony was apparent in the invites. The duo chose an invite style that used a cowpoke hat and a bouquet of flowers as the central focus. I knew then there would be country wedding songs at the marriage ceremony. The lovely icons were set on top of a bale of hay that was gracefully placed to the left of the eye-catching notes.

The pair opted to write their own special note for the guests to read and they stuck with the western marriage ceremony theme by indicating that they were "getting hitched" and providing the particulars about the occasion. This sweet display was normally informal but the gorgeous design and elegant quality of the invitations balanced the casual attitude of the note.

The maid of honor also embraced the theme by using brilliant little friendly box necklace and ear-ring sets presented in a cowpoke hat. These were presented as country wedding songs played. Each box was designed as a hat that opens easily to reveal either a pendant necklace or earrings for the guests at the wedding shower. The gifts were cost effective according to the maid-of-honor who was quite proud of her show-stopping choice of wedding shower favors. These keepsakes will be enjoyed for years to come and they're a great reminder of the western marriage ceremony.

Wine was given out to the groom and bride in an unusual way. There was a cow-boy wine-holder on the wedding table. The base of the wine holder was a horseshoe and attached to the base was a cowboy made out of horseshoes as well. His metal arms were out-stretched to hold 4 wine goblets (that were ornamented with running horses) and his curved legs held the wine. There were country wedding songs playing while the wine was poured. This fantastic piece fit right into the western marriage ceremony motif.

Maybe the most incredible element in the country wedding ceremony was the bride's magnificent gown. This dress had a small train and was covered in delicate lace and pearls. It was in no way a ballroom gown but it radiated beauty. The bride looked out from beneath a tastefully-decorated cow-girl hat decorated with a light veil. She was the crowning touch to the western marriage ceremony.
